A multi-market football betting service with a strong track record of positive reviews against bookmaker prices. Built around advanced modelling techniques, a platform is designed to identify value opportunities within softer bookmaker markets.A high-volume approach, delivering over 100 selections per week to its users. The service is widely supported by established review platforms and includes numerous case studies highlighting successful user experiences. Sharp Betting is also complemented by one of the strongest free offerings we have seen from a paid service provider, giving users the opportunity to explore and evaluate the system before committing to a subscription.
The Sharp Betting Service
Sharp Betting Premium is a football betting service designed to identify value opportunities within bookmaker pricing and provide its members with an edge across a variety of betting markets. Rather than operating as a traditional tipping service that releases a fixed list of daily selections, the platform provides a real-time feed of betting opportunities throughout the day. Each selection is accompanied by the recommended price and the bookmaker currently offering the value.
At the heart of the service is a proprietary model that calculates what it believes to be the true probability of market outcomes. These probabilities are then continuously compared against live bookmaker odds. When a bookmaker’s price offers a sufficient edge over the model’s estimated true price, the selection is added to the feed for members to follow.
The service was founded by two partners David Hipkin & Chris Fawcett, although David very much appears to be the public face of the service. David has spent many years within the betting industry, holding roles that included pricing boxing events and working on trading floors covering live sporting markets. His career has taken him to major sporting events around the world and provided extensive experience in the mechanics of bookmaker pricing.
The algorithms that power Sharp Betting Premium were originally developed for the founders’ own betting activities. After achieving consistent success over an 18-month period, they encountered the same challenge faced by many profitable bettors: bookmaker account restrictions. As opportunities to utilise the models personally became increasingly limited, the decision was made to commercialise the product and make it available to other bettors. The story behind the development of the service is documented in a number of articles published on the Sharp Betting blog.
According to David, the service is aimed primarily at bettors seeking to generate a meaningful secondary income through sports betting using small to medium stakes. The philosophy is based on high turnover and volume, repeatedly cycling a betting bank through a large number of value opportunities rather than relying on a handful of high-conviction selections.
Sharp Betting Premium (Football) is one of two subscription products offered by the company, the other focusing on boxing, David’s specialist sport. In addition to the paid services, the website also provides complimentary horse racing and tennis selections, although these are best viewed as added extras rather than primary reasons for joining.
Getting Started
One feature that deserves particular attention is David’s Daily, the free service offered by Sharp Betting. By creating a free account and accessing the David’s Daily section of the website, users receive a small selection of picks every day, taken directly from the Premium service.
This equates to more than 50 selections per month and provides an excellent opportunity to experience the service before committing to a subscription. In our view, it is one of the strongest free offerings currently available from a paid betting service provider. Anyone considering Sharp Betting would be well advised to begin with David’s Daily.
For Premium subscribers, accessing the selections is straightforward. Simply select Picks from the main navigation menu and choose Football from the drop-down list. This opens the live picks feed, as illustrated in the screenshot below.

The feed displays opportunities in kick-off time order, with each entry showing the fixture, selection, recommended odds, and the bookmaker currently offering value. In some cases, the same selection may appear multiple times where several bookmakers meet the criteria.
Value levels are clearly highlighted using a colour-coded system. Selections displayed in red represent the strongest value opportunities according to the model, while green indicates a smaller edge. Most selections also include a direct link to the relevant bookmaker, enabling users to place bets quickly. Notably, the service does not provide links to betting exchanges.
One aspect that immediately stands out is the sheer volume of opportunities available. Even during quieter periods of the football calendar, the feed remains extremely active. High volume is central to the Sharp Betting philosophy, with the aim being to place as many value bets as possible and continually recycle the betting bank over time. The combination of a streamlined interface, direct bookmaker links, and a constant flow of opportunities allows users to act quickly and efficiently.
Sharp Betting Staking
Sharp Betting records and recommends two staking approaches: traditional level staking and its proprietary Sharp Staking method.
Level staking is of course straightforward, with the same amount risked on every selection. Sharp Staking, meanwhile, adjusts stake sizes based on the odds available. For selections priced above evens (2.0), stakes are calculated to achieve a fixed profit amount should the bet win. For selections priced at 2.0 or below, a standard one-unit stake is used.
According to the official Sharp Betting results, level staking has historically generated the highest overall profit. However, Sharp Staking has delivered a smoother curve with reduced volatility, making it a more consistent approach for those looking to minimise fluctuations in performance.
Sharp Betting strongly advocates the use of accumulator betting, specifically combining two qualifying selections into doubles. The reasoning behind this approach is the ability to compound expected value (EV) across multiple bets. In theory, if a betting strategy consistently generates profit from individual selections, combining those selections into accumulators can amplify the overall return by compounding the underlying edge.
While this concept works well with traditional bookmakers, it is far more difficult to replicate on betting exchanges. Exchanges do not offer accumulator functionality in the same way, making the practical implementation of this approach considerably more challenging.
Service Pricing & Membership Packages
Sharp Betting Premium offers two subscription options:
- Monthly Membership: £30 per month, including a free 7-day trial.
- Annual Membership: £228 per year, representing a 37% saving and reducing the effective monthly cost to just £19.
The annual package represents particularly strong value when you consider the volume of selections generated by the service. The pricing structure appears to have been designed with a long-term betting mindset in mind, encouraging members to judge performance over a substantial sample of bets rather than short-term results.
Many comparable services we have reviewed, especially those producing a similar volume of selections, are often priced closer to the £100 per month mark. Maintaining confidence during inevitable losing periods can be challenging when paying significant monthly subscription fees. By keeping costs relatively modest and offering a meaningful discount for longer commitments, Sharp Betting has created a pricing model that is accessible to a wider audience and encourages members to focus on the long-term value of the service.
For bettors willing to take a longer-term approach, the annual membership offers excellent value and helps reduce the impact of subscription costs on overall profitability.
Exchange Trial
It is important to emphasise that Sharp Betting Premium is designed specifically to beat soft bookmakers, and the team behind the service make no claims that it is capable of generating the same results on the betting exchanges. In fact, the Sharp Betting website contains several articles and videos that clearly state the platform has not been tested on exchange markets and was never developed with that objective in mind.
Our review aims to answer that question by evaluating how the service performs on the exchanges and exploring whether there are any viable exchange-based approaches that can be applied. However, it is important to keep this context in mind throughout the trial. Sharp Betting is, first and foremost, a value betting service built to exploit inefficiencies in soft bookmaker pricing, rather than the more efficient markets found on betting exchanges.
For our Sharp Betting Premium Exchange Trial, we will operate with a £1,000 betting bank, staking £10 per selection (1% of bank) throughout the test. We will follow every qualifying selection generated by the feed, including both red and green rated opportunities, provided the available exchange price matches or exceeds the advised odds.
To provide a comprehensive assessment of the service, we will record exchange prices at two points: when the selection is received and five minutes before kick-off. This will allow us to evaluate whether waiting closer to the start of the match offers any advantage when betting on the exchanges, allowing weaker liquidity markets to properly form.
As betting exchanges do not support accumulator betting in the same manner as traditional bookmakers, we will initially record all results as single bets. However, Sharp Betting strongly advocates the use of multiples to maximise expected value. For this reason, once the trial is complete, we will also conduct a simulation of a rolling accumulator approach, whereby stakes and profits are carried forward from one selection to the next when fixtures take place at different times.
As with all of our exchange trials, our objective is to collect a substantial sample size, and we will therefore aim to record at least 1,000 selections before drawing any conclusions on the long-term viability of the service.
